Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park is open to collaborating with Eminem.
Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park has expressed interest in working with Eminem. He also discloses that they wish to collaborate with artists from other musical genres in order to experiment with their sound. In a recent interview with MONTREALITY, American Rock band Linkin Park’s Multitalented Rapper Mike Shinoda talks about Eminem and shows the desire to work with Eminem in the future. On asking about work with Eminem, Mike said “I mean the idea of collaborating with Eminem is something that fans want, I’ve thought about it before, Eminem is great”
Mike Shinoda said he knew about Eminem even before he was signed. “I had a friend that worked at Raukus back in the days, He gave me the cassette tape of The Slim Shady LP. That was before ‘Just the two of us’ which I think ended up on his record. That was when they actually used the ‘Just the two of us sample. Then, when the album came out they couldn’t clear the sample so they did the different beat.”
Mike said “Eminem was doing shows at the Roxy for like 300 people in LA. Like, coming on stage with drugs and stuff, just falling onto the stage, then he would just pick up the Mic and go crazy.” Mike Shinoda also talked about himself in the interview on the type of kid he was at school, jobs he had as a teenager growing up, what he was in the previous lifetime, and many other things. Mike also talked about the current state of hip-hop and gave a message to the youth.
Shinoda went on to say that if the opportunity arose, he would “absolutely” collaborate with Eminem. “Even if it was a thing where we just did the music and he just did his vocals, I’d be down with that,” Shinoda said. “I just think he’s talented. I’d be down to do something.”
On November 28, Eminem will release Shady XV, a new collaborative album with other Hip Hop friends, and Linkin Park recently wrapped up their Carnivores tour with Thirty Seconds to Mars.
