Lil Yachty picks Chief Keef as one of the most influential in response to Charlamagne Tha God.
In a recent sit down on the Brilliant Idiots podcast, Charlamagne Tha God lists four of the most influential rap artists, where he named Kanye West, JAY-Z, 2Pac and Lil Wayne. When someone mentioned that Chief Keef should be there too, Charlamagne disagreed. “You know why I don’t put Chief Keef in there? Because Chief Keef didn’t influence like, the world,” he responds. “He influenced a sound of a region. He didn’t influence the world. Those four people I named literally influenced people all over the world.”

He acknowledged that Keef had an international impact, but he didn’t think the rapper belonged to be in the Top 4. This raised a lot of controversies, especially among Chicago-based artists. Now the topic again came into conversation when G Herbo made a visit to The Breakfast Club. “I never said Chief Keef wasn’t influential,” stated Charlamagne.
The clip was shared by DJ Akademiks, where Lil Yachty also shared his list of most influential rappers, and also included Chief Keef. “Def top 10 in one of the most influential artist of all time,” Yachty commented. “With drake, thug, Wayne, jay, ye, Eminem, chief Keef, nicki, future, & biggie top ten for sure.” “& PAC OFCOURSE,” he added.
