Lil Wayne’s “Tha Carter VI” moves over 100k units in the first week.
The first week numbers for the new Lil Wayne album “Tha Carter VI” are here, and the project moved over 100k units in its opening week. According to Billboard, the album moved 108,000 (97.06 million on-demand streams, 34,000 pure sales) in the first week, and debuted at number 2 on the chart. The number 1 on the chart is Morgan Wallen’s “I’m The Problem”, which is its fourth week at the top.
The project released to negative reviews, and failed to create an impact like other album in the Carter series. This is the lowest sales for an album in the Carter series.
This was his first full-length album in five years, a follow-up to 2020’s “Funeral”, and a sequel to 2018’s “Tha Carter V”. The previous album “, Funeral”, sold 139,000 equivalent units in the first week.
Following the release of the album, the rapper also dropped a couple of bonus tracks, “Banned From NO” Remix with Nicki Minaj and “Momma Don’t Worry” with Future & Lil Baby.
