Lil Wayne, Pusha T and more appear in the NFL Kickoff ad.
As we’re heading into another season of NFL, a series of advertisements released today. One of the teaser videos features Lil Wayne, Pusha T and Saweetie celebrating with the fans. The commercial also features the tune of Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg’s classic “Still DRE”, as a tribute to the Super Bowl halftime show from earlier this year.
The teasers also star boxer Ryan Garcia, Los Angeles Chargers’ Derwin James, New Orleans Saints’ Cam Jordan, Seattle Seahawks’ DK Metcalf and more. The 2022-2023 NFL season will kick off on September 8 at SoFi Stadium, and the first match is between Buffalo Bills and Los Angels Rams.
Their friendship soured when they were shown together during the video for the song for Clipse’s 2002 single “What Happened To That Boy.”
Lil Wayne said to Drinks Champs in 2020 that he didn’t know what went wrong between him and Push, equating it to a player being surprised by the front offices with a trade transaction. “I swear to God I don’t, man,” he replied to the Drink Champs hosts, asking if he knew what started it. “I just found out … it was one of those things … you ever see when an athlete gets traded and he don’t know it and he gets traded during a press conference? [Wayne’s friend] was like, ‘What you gonna do? You gonna come back at Pusha?’ I’m like, ‘What you mean? I’d love to do a song with him.’ He like, ‘Nah he dissing you now.’”
