Lil Wayne reacts to Kendrick Lamar’s namedrop.
Kendrick Lamar returned with his surprise new album GNX, where he namedropped many artists, including Lil Wayne. In the song titled “wacced out murals”, K. Dot mentioned Weezy in reference to the controversy surrounding his Super Bowl 2025 Halftime selection.
“I used to bump Tha Carter 3, I held my Rollie chain proud / Irony, I think my hardwork let Lil Wayne down.” “Got the Super Bowl and Nas the only one congratulate me, all these ni–as agitated I’m just glad it’s on they faces,” he raps on the song.

Following the release, Lil Wayne now also reacts to the lyrics, and gives a warning to Kendrick Lamar. “Man wtf I do?! I just be chillin & dey still kome 4 my head. Let’s not take kindness for weakness. Let this giant sleep. I beg u all. No one really wants destruction, not even me but I shall destroy if disturbed. On me. Love,” he wrote on his X.

“You said the superbowl was taken from you when it wasn’t promised in the first place and never congratulated the artist who looked up to you and worked hard himself to get it, but now it’s “wtf I do?” Lol,” a user responded to the post. “He didn’t even diss you like that. No let people gas you up for a diss. Stay a legend,” wrote another.
After being not picked for Super Bowl in his hometown, Wayne previously released a visual statement on his social media. “First of all, I want to say forgive me for the delay. I had to get strength enough to do this without breaking,” Wayne said. “I’ma say thank you to every voice, every opinion, all the care, love and support out there. Your words turned into arms and held me up when I tried to fall back.”
He continued, “That hurt. It hurt a lot. You know what I’m talking about. It hurt a whole lot. I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown, and for automatically mentally putting myself in that position like somebody told me that was my position. So I blame myself for that.”
“But I thought that was nothing better than that spot and that stage and that platform in my city, so it hurt. It hurt a whole lot. But y’all are f–king amazing. It made me feel like sh-t not getting this opportunity and when I felt like sh-t, you guys reminded me that I ain’t sh-t without y’all… and that’s an amazing reality.”
“So, like I said, it broke me and I’m just trying to put me back together. But my God, have you all helped me. Thanks to all of my peers, my friends, my family, my homies on the sports television and everybody repping me. I really appreciate that, I really do. I feel like I let all of y’all down by not getting that opportunity, but I’m working on me and I’m working. So thank you,” he concluded.
