Lil Wayne & Static Major’s “Lollipop” goes Diamond.
Lil Wayne earns his first ever RIAA Diamond certification as his 2008 hit “Lollipop” moved 10,000,000 units in the US. The song which features vocals from late Kentucky singer Static Major was the lead single from Wayne’s sixth studio album “The Carter III”.

The song is one of Weezy’s most successful single, as it spends five non-consecutive weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100. The track won the Grammy for Best Rap Song at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards, where he also received the honour for Best Rap Album for “Tha Carter III”.
Recently, the song has had a resurgence. Last month, it ranked one on TikTok’s US Top Tracks and second on the Viral list. Lil Wayne also performed a blistering performance of “Lollipop” on Amazon Music Live, which was hosted by 2 Chainz.
Just recently, Wayne’s fellow rapper Drake earned his fourth and fifth RIAA Diamonds for 2016 hit “Hotline Bling” and “One Dance”, making him the third artist in history to earn five Diamond singles.
