Police arrested Kodak Black on New Year’s Eve in Florida.
Kodak Black was reportedly arrested on New Year’s Eve in Florida. According to reports by TMZ, the Florida rapper was taken into custody for a charge of trespassing in his hometown of Pompano Beach. Broward Sheriff Office stated that deputies made the contact with Kodak near the 1600 block of Northwest 10th Drive, just before 1:30 AM.
Kodak Black’s lawyer Bradford Cohen stated that the arrest of his client was a misunderstanding, and he just went to his old neighbourhood of Greenacres to celebrate the holidays, where he also pay off credit card debt for 5 families in the area. He was reportedly arrested was a violation of a letter issued by the local housing authority. It was issued in September when Kodak Black gave 100 AC units to Golden Acres Projects residents, which was not accepted by the Housing Authority. However, the rapper was released a couple of hours later with a bond of $25.

The “Tunnel Vision” rapper has been detained on many occasions for gun and drug offences, most recently in April 2019 when officials discovered marijuana and a pistol on him as he attempted to cross the border from Canada to the United States near Niagara Falls.
The rap sensation was arrested on firearm charges at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami a month later, just before he was scheduled to play. For the crime, he was eventually sentenced to 46 months in jail.
Kodak Black was one of the artists who was pardoned by former US President Donald Trump on his last day in office back in January 2021. He was sentenced to four years jail time in 2019 for the federal firearm charge.
