Kim Kardashian jokes about her divorce with Kanye West on SNL.
As announced, Kim Kardashian West made her “Saturday Night Live” debut last night as a host. Previously, it was rumoured that she was getting help from her rapper husband Kanye West, as well the likes of Dave Chappelle, Ellen DeGeneres, Amy Schumer and James Corden for her hosting debut on the popular show.
In the opening monologue, Kim jokes about her hosting with reference to her S*x tape with Ray J. “I am Kim Kardashian West, and it was so great to be here tonight… I know, I’m surprised to see me here too. When they asked, I was like, ‘You want me to host, why? I haven’t had a movie premiere in a really long time,” she said, which made the audience laugh. “Actually, I only had that one movie come out, and no one even told me it was even premiering. It must have slipped my mom’s mind.”
Then she jokes about her and her sibling’s plastic surgery. “I am excited to be here tonight to show you guys that I am so much more than just a pretty face… and good hair, and great makeup, and amazing boo*s, and a perfect butt. Basically, I’m so much more than that reference photo my sisters showed their plastic surgeons.”
Kim, who was in a pink dress, from neck to toes, also took a moment to show love to Kanye West, but with subtle humour. “I married the best rapper of all time. Not only that, he’s the richest Black man in America. A talented legit genius who gave me four incredible kids. So, when I divorced him, you have to know it just came down to one thing… his personality.”
Also, the criminal justice activist expressed her joy at following in her father’s footsteps, Robert Kardashian, who represented OJ Simpson in his 1995 murder trial. Kardashian West joked it was her father who first introduced her to a black person – asking the audience to “take a stab in the dark at who it was.”
She went on to say, “Regarding the ongoing mystery surrounding the deaths of Simpson’s ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman,” referring to the murders of Simpson’s ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. “OJ does leave mark – or several – or none at all, I still don’t know.”
Kanye West was also in the city to be with Kim Kardashian before her Saturday Night Live appearance, and they both spotted leaving the Ritz Carlton hotel together.
