Kevin Durant lists his top 5 rap albums of 2022.
Future’s “I Never Liked You” is the best-selling rap album of this year, and it comes among many people’s favourites of 2022. Kevin Durant also showed love for the Freebandz boss’ project and crowned it as his favourite this year.
“That album top to bottom… I think where I first heard it where I was made it a moment for me,” he said. “On top of every song… I don’t think he had any misses on here. Did he go 16 for 16 on here? Transparency, he’s honest, he’s vulnerable, confident, aggressive. He’s really authentic with his moment I don’t feel like it’s a lie at all.”
The NBA superstar named Kodak Black’s “Back For Everything” in his top 5, followed by Steve Lacy’s “Gemini Rights” at number 4 and 38 Spesh’s “7 Shots” at number three. For the number 2 spot, KD named Drake and 21 Savage’s latest hit collab album “Her Loss“. “I play it during shootaround before the games,” he said. “I play it everywhere actually. It was top-to-bottom, you already know.”
Future’s ninth studio album, I Never Liked You, was released in April. The album has 16 tracks and has been certified Platinum. Drake, Kanye West, Tems, Young Thug, and Gunna are all included. Babyface Ray, Lil Baby, and Lil Durk appear in the deluxe edition.
The Billboard 200 charted I Never Liked You at No. 1. It sold over 222,000 album-equivalent units within its first week, and Future garnered six Grammy nominations, the most of any artist in his career.
