“A virtuosic song collection,” the Pulitzer board writes of DAMN., “unified by its vernacular authenticity and rhythmic dynamism that offers affecting vignettes capturing the complexity of modern African-American life.” by the Pulitzer board. DAMN. topped several year-end best-of lists (including ours), and was nominated for five Grammys, though it lost out to Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic for album of the year.
