Kendrick Lamar reaches a new milestone with his latest album “Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers”.
Kendrick Lamar’s brand new album “Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers” has now reached a new milestone as the project surpassed 1 billion streams on global Spotify. The album is 2nd highest streamed project on Spotify that was released this year, the first being Bad Bunny’s “Un Verano Sin Ti”.

The project was released in May, and it was Kendrick Lamar’s final album through the TDE label. It was a double disc project with 9 tracks on each side, and guest appearances from SUmmer Walker, Ghostface Killah, Kodak Black, Taylour Paige, Blxst, Baby Keem, Tanna Leone and more.
The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, opening with 295,000 album-equivalent units that consisted of 35,000 album sales and 258,000 streaming units, with 343.02 million on-demand streams.
The album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers has seen success on Spotify with their tracks “N95,” “Die Hard,” and “Rich Spirit,” which have received 128.5 million, 99.5 million, and 47.8 million streams, respectively.
Mr. Morale surpassed Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti peak of 274,000 album-equivalent sales with 295,500; Bad Bunny had previously surpassed Future’s I Never Liked You high of 222,000.
He appeared to be on the verge of winning an Oscar for the animated song “We Cry Together.” Lamar and actress Taylour Paige feature in the six-minute short about a loving couple going through a caustic and painful split. Throughout their dispute, the two use aggressive language and behavior to act out the words of the song. The short film was shown at the Lamelle Royal Theater in West Los Angeles from June 3 to June 9. The screening was hosted by Lamar’s creative collaborative, pgLang, which was created by the 35-year-old and his longstanding adviser and collaborator Dave Free.
On the first day of release, the project was streamed over 100 million times on global Spotify, which was the fourth biggest ever on the platform.
