Kendrick Lamar shares the announcement trailer for Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show 2025.
While everyone waiting for an album announcement from Kendrick Lamar, the rapper had been cooking something else as he announced that he will headline the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show next year in 2025.
In a video shared by the rapper on his YouTube, he’s practising with NFL footballs as he announces the halftime show for 2025. “My name is Kendrick Lamar, and I will be performing at Super Bowl 59. Will you be pulling up, I hope so. You know there’s only one opportunity to win the championship, no round 2’s. I don’t want you to miss it, meet me at New Orleans, February 9th, 2025.”

Kendrick Lamar will now become the first rapper to solo headline the Super Bowl halftime show. Just a couple of years back, K. Dot headlined the Super Bowl along with Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige & 50 Cent in 2022, for which they also won an Emmy Award.
“Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why,” Kendrick said in a statement. “They got the right one.”
“Few artists have impacted music and culture as profoundly as Kendrick Lamar,” said NFL head of music Seth Dudowsky. “Time and time again, Kendrick has proven his unique ability to craft moments that resonate, redefine, and ultimately shake the very foundation of hip-hop. We’re excited to collaborate with Kendrick, Roc Nation, and Apple Music to deliver another unforgettable Halftime Show.”
The rapper has had a huge past few months following his beef battle with Kendrick Lamar, in which he dropped the record breaking number 1 hit “Not Like Us.” In the Super Bowl trailer, “no round 2’s” is seemingly a shot at Drake, who posted something about round 2 on his social media recently. The rapper shared the trailer same way he dropped the Drake diss tracks, and it is his first X (formerly Twitter) post since Not Like Us.
