Kendrick Lamar's GNX Becomes Billboard's Longest Running #1 Rap Album Ever

Kendrick Lamar achieves another career milestone.

Kendrick Lamar continues his monumental career and chart run as the rapper now has the longest-running number one album of all time on Billboard’s Top Rap Album chart.

According the Billboard, Lamar’s album GNX, which was released last November, has been number one on the Top Rap Albums chart for a record-breaking 22-week period. The record was previously held by late Pop Smoke’s posthumous album “Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon” which topped the chart for 21 weeks.

The Compton rapper is currently on a joint Grand National tour with SZA, which is now the highest-grossing co-headlining tour of all time. The tour is closing in on its end, and with just 23 shows across America and Canada, the two have grossed over $256 million, with 1.1 million tickets sold. The average attendance of the tour is 48,000.

During the recent stop in Maryland, an emotional SZA gave flowers to Kendrick Lamar. “He put me onto the biggest moment of my life. This is also the biggest moment of my life… I’m so thankful, and I’m so thankful to y’all,” she said.
