The duo collaborated on Kendrick Lamar’s New Album on the track Silent Hill.
Fans of Kendrick Lamar are certainly thrilled about the release of his new album, “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.” Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, Kendrick Lamar’s new project, is receiving widespread acclaim from fans and reviewers alike. However, Kendrick Lamar is getting flak for including Kodak Black on his critically acclaimed album.
Following the release of Kendrick Lamar’s fifth studio album on Friday (May 13), K-Dot fans took to Twitter to criticize the Compton, California rapper for including Kodak multiple times on the record despite the sexual assault claims leveled against him.

Kodak Black was accused of raping a teenage girl inside his hotel room in South Carolina back in November of 2016.
Kodak accepted a plea agreement in April 2021, pled guilty to first-degree assault, and was sentenced to 18 months probation. During his hearing, the rapper from South Florida addressed the victim, who was watching the proceedings on a virtual live link. “I apologize this happened, and I’m hopeful we can all move forward,” he said.
Many individuals have criticised Kendrick Lamar for featuring Kodak on his new album and attempting to rehabilitate a “problematic/toxic individual” through the issues on his album after its release.
THREAD: I think that we’ve entered this annoying trend of “conscious” rappers/artists thinking they are doing something enlightening and/or edgy by attempting to redeem and/or reimagine problematic/toxic individuals in society.
Kendrick Lamar sadly chose Kodak Black on purpose.

The annoying part is that artists that know better should do better but somehow they get passes in the name of “being human.”
Somehow “being human” keeps looking like collaborating with abusers and rapists, but never seeing solidarity with their victims.
The hypocrisy.

I really love Kendrick Lamar’s album! And that being said, I hate the rapist is featured all over it. I expected better on that front. Like seriously, Kodak is not that damn good for y’all to be ignoring the rape conviction idc

I’m not condoning rape, because I am a rape victim. However, the outrage that people are experiencing about Kodak being featured on Kendrick Lamar’s album seems biased. Where was this fake outrage when he was featured on Latto’s album? A FEMALE rapper!

People hyping up Kendrick Lamar’s album when he collaborated with rapist Kodak Black, supported R. Kelly, called gay people the f-slur in a song about acceptance, and has shown dismissal of black women and whose idea of black liberation stops at black men.

I h8 Kendrick for what he did on this album. You have started a storm that you don’t even have to be here to deal with. And that makes me mad because this is the same man that wrote about colorism and the effects of it just to have Kodak on this album 3 whole times…
