Kanye West says he can beat Kendrick Lamar.
Kanye West makes a bold claim that he is capable of beating Kendrick Lamar in a rap battle. Ye sat down with Justin LaBoy for a new interview on his podcast The Download, where he claims that he could beat K. Dot as he’s a “psycho genius.”
“If you rap against Kendrick, you will lose. This man does this. You know on Street Fighter, you get like a Chun-Li, you get a certain kick, and no matter what, you can’t beat that thing.,” he said.
“Joe Budden said, ‘Never rap against Kendrick Lamar.’ If you rap against Kendrick Lamar, it’s a difficult task, but perhaps there’s something — I’m a psycho genius so it could be…”
Laboy then said: “There you have it… do not rap against Kendrick Lamar.” “Unless you’re a psycho genius like me,” responds Ye.
In the interview, he also reacts to Kendrick beating Drake. “[I was like], ‘Man, you killed my nemesis! Where’s the movies if it ain’t no Drake?’,” he said with a laugh. “Or at least he took him down for a little bit. You know in superhero films where one of characters, like Wolverine or something, just goes away for a couple films?”
Earlier this week, Kendrick made history with Drake diss “Not Like Us” as it won 5 Grammy awards at the 67th annual event. The 2024 chart-topping diss track won in Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, Best Music Video, Record of the Year and Song of the Year categories.
