Joey Badass’ new album “2000” release is delayed.
Joey Badass is making his long-awaited return with a new album “2000“, a follow-up to his 2017’s “All-Amerikkkan Bada$$“, and a sequel to his critically praised first mixtape 1999 from 2012. The album was supposed to drop at midnight today, but it is now revealed that it has been pushed back.
The Brooklyn rapper took to his social media to reveal that the project won’t be released tonight due to sample clearance issues. “Man I got some terrible news, my album won’t be coming out tonight due to sample clearance issues. Right now, it’s unclear how long I’ll have to postpone it but my hope is no more than 2 weeks. I wanted to have a new date before I told you guys but it’s out of my control,” he wrote.
Joey’s breakout mixtape, 1999, would have been released on the 10th anniversary of his breakthrough mixtape, which yielded singles including “Waves” and “Hardknock.” Joey did not give a new release date for 2000, but stated that he expects to be able to do so shortly.
However, the rapper will be assisting Chance The Rapper on new song “The Highs & The Lows” which is dropping tonight. “I’ll keep you guys updated obviously, I’m almost certain I’ll have a new date by Monday. On the bright side me and Chance’s new song drops tmrw,” he wrote.
