Joe Budden says Drake’s recent freestyle frightened him.
Joe Budden admits that he’s scared of Drake’s raps on the upcoming “For All The Dogs” album. On the latest episode of his The Joe Budden podcast, the rapper-turned-podcaster reviewed Travis Scott’s new long-awaited “Utopia” album and then praised Drake for his recent On The Radar Freestyle with Central Cee.
“That Central Cee freestyle has frightened me and scared the living sh-t out of me,” Budden said. “That freestyle scared the living sh-t out of me as to what to expect from Drake’s next project.”
Joe Budden expressed his desire for the Toronto rap star’s upcoming album to veer away from the “Calypso” vibes featured in his previous release, “Honestly, Nevermind.” Instead, he would like to see Drizzy return to his roots and deliver a complete rap album. Joe Budden is eagerly anticipating what the 6 God has in store for his next project.
“I don’t wanna hear none of that Calypso rapping sh-t,” he continued. “No disrespect, I know Central Cee is him over there [in the U.K.], and he smoked that. They both killed it. I don’t wanna hear none of that sh-t on the next Drake project; I wanna hear this.”
During a recent stop on his It’s All A Blur tour, the Toronto rap star revealed that fans will get to see the old him on the project. “I’m tired of everybody coming up to me, [saying] ‘man… we miss that old Drake man. We need that old Drake man,’” he said. “Imma give it to you then.”
