Joe Budden reacts to Eminem walking out Terence Crawford.
Last week, Eminem made an appearance in Las Vegas as he walked out boxer Terence Crawford for the match against Errol Spence Jr. During the ring walk, the rapper’s classic Oscar-winning single “Lose Yourself” was played.
As the rapper made headlines for his appearance, it also gets praise from former Slaughterhouse member Joe Budden. “When this song comes on you can do anything in the world,” he said on his podcast. “You can accomplish anything you need to accomplish out there. It’s a cheat code. Y’all, I’ve been in my room by the time this beat dropped. I said, Holy sh-t. Holy sh-t. what the f–k?! Oh my god! I switched sides. I switched sides so fast. Before Em could sing ‘his mom’s spaghetti on his shirt.’ I know me and Em may have our differences but this right here — this is what this song was made for.”
“Las Vegas, make some noise for the next Undisputed Welterweight champion of the world, Terence “Bud” f–king Crawford,” shouted Eminem at the walk. After the match, Crawford was asked how he got Eminem for the match walk. “I don’t know, it was just… throw a rock in a haystack and he replied and you know I told him to pull up, and he was like I’m there, you’re one of my favorite fighters.”

Lose Yourself was released back in 2002 as part of soundtrack to Eminem’s rap film 8 Mile. The track was composed and produced by Eminem, longtime collaborator Jeff Bass, one half of the production duo Bass Brothers, and Luis Resto. The track became Eminem’s first Billboard Hot 100 number one single, and remained on top for twelve consecutive weeks. The track won the Academy Award for Best Original Song, which made it the first hip hop song to receive the award, and also won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Solo Performance.
