J. Cole Says He'd Still Be Grateful If Drake Collab Went No. 2 on Billboard Hot 100

J. Cole reacts to his Drake collab beating Yeat for number 1 on Billboard Hot 100.

Just recently, J. Cole earned his first-ever Billboard Hot 100 number 1 hit with Drake collab “First Person Shooter”, and the rapper says it wouldn’t have mattered if it went number 2.

The rapper made an appearance on Lil Yachty’s A Safe Podcast, and in the teaser, he talked about going number 1 on Hot 100. “If it would’ve went Number 2 it wouldn’t have mattered,” he said. “I wouldn’t have felt no way. If the other song would’ve went No. 1, it’s like, bruh, I’m cool.

“I’d almost feel better not having my first No. 1 being off a Drake alley-oop, you know what I mean? I love Drake and I love that I’m a part of that moment with him with Michael Jackson.”

He continued: “But it’s like, bruh, I’m grateful I’m a part of it, but if that other song would’ve went No. 1, ni–a, I’m still grateful I’m a part of it.” “I wasn’t at home like, ‘Come on y’all, Pick up the streams, man, We gotta beat this muthaf–kin’ Yeat… Come on!’ Nah, I wasn’t doing that.”

“What got ‘First Person Shooer’ to number 1 was me and Drake fans still buy iTunes singles, still buy singles. So the actual digital sales of the song, I don’t know who still buying them bi–hes but appreciate y’all.”
