J. Cole name drops various artists on the new song “Fire Squad”.
J. Cole‘s upcoming album “2014 Forest Hills Drive” is not yet in stores, but It already starting creating Controversy. In the new leak of his album “Fire Squad”, J. Cole calls out some of the famous white artists of the Music industry for appropriating Black Culture. In “Fire Squad,” he expresses his dissatisfaction with all of this, addressing the exploitation of black culture that goes far beyond rap.
In one of the verses of the track, J. Cole mentions Justin Timberlake, Eminem, and Macklemore, the lyrics are follows as.
“History repeats itself and thats just how it goes
Same way that these rappers always bite each others flows
Same thing that my nigga Elvis did with Rock n Roll
Justin Timberlake, Eminem, and then Macklemore”
Elvis Presley is one of America’s most popular and admired musicians, yet he’s also been accused of stealing musical ideas from pioneering black performers (as heard on Public Enemy’s “Fight the Power”). Although this isn’t new knowledge, few young rappers have been as forthright about the subject, which has reappeared as a major topic of discussion in hip-hop this year.
J. Cole also calls out Iggy Azalea, Who just won the best Hip-Hop Artist and Album in this year’s American Music Awards by beating Eminem and Drake, J.Cole Raps “While silly niggas argue over who gone snatch the crown
Look around my nigga white people have snatched the sound
This year i’ll prolly go to the awards dappered down
Watch Iggy win a Grammy as I try to crack a smile”
But later he adds “I’m just playin’, but all good jokes contain true shit
Same rope you climb up on, they’ll hang you with“.
Check out the track and some of the reactions from fans on Twitter. J. Cole’s “2014 Forest Hills Drive” will be in the stores on December 9th.

J Cole you right bruh but swinging at Macklemore, Eminem, and Justin Timberlake is a mis-step bro. Definitely was not a smart decision.
