Insane Clown Posse member challenges Eminem For A VERZUZ.
Insane Clown Posse’s Violent J sat down for an interview with No Jumper’s Adam 22. Among other things in the one-hour interview, the Michigan artist was asked about doing VERZUZ against D12 & Eminem, to which he said that they’re cool and he would love to do a battle against Marshall for the people of Detroit.
One of the current members of the group, Violent J, stopped on the No Jumper podcast and started talking about Verzuz. Violent J was approached by Adam about a possible Verzuz combat, and when J’s memories of Esham the Unholy failed to excite him, he increased the ante and offered going up against Eminem and D12. This concept piqued J’s interest: Damn! I was gonna say that! Think about that for a minute! He’s coming with these hits that were monster hits. But we’re dropping undeniably dope shit that people have never heard. Because we would bring our best.
“We have no problem with Eminem,” he said. “Everything is super cool. Been super cool. But for the sake of freshness from Detroit, I officially challenge Eminem, right now. Eminem, let’s do A Verzuz battle. Megaton huge hits versus undeniable, underground, unheard but dope sh*t. Back and forth.”
“He [Eminem] can’t be doing songs with Rihanna’s hook on them, we gotta go old school,” says Adam22.
Violent J continues, “Em can come with anything he wants. That would be so dope. Make that official man. Eminem man, bring it. Let’s battle for Detroit.”
Last year during an interview with Spin, ICP called their Eminem beef “Hip-Hop History”. “I don’t regret it because it was hip-hop history in [Detroit],” says Violent J. “But it meant so much to us when Proof squashed the beef. He came to the office, laid down a verse for [Twiztid], and gave us a shout-out. It was dope. We didn’t ask him, ‘Does Eminem know you’re here?’ because it didn’t matter. Proof coming down was enough. I’d invite Eminem to come to have dinner at my house. But he’s selling out stadiums all over the world, he doesn’t really need the Gathering. But we’d love to do a song with him. That’d be dope.”
“He can come any way he wants. That would be so dope. That would be awesome. That’s why I’m challenging him! Officially. Make that official. Eminem, man, bring it. Let’s battle for Detroit. Detroit vs Everybody first, us vs you. Let’s do it.”
