Hitmaka says someone gotta get fired after bad Sales for Saweetie’s project.
Saweetie made her return to music with her new EP “The Single Life“, which is reportedly expecting low first-week sales. According to HDD, the 6-track project is projected to move 2,000 album-equivalent units in the first week.
Producer Hitmaka weighs in on the projections and says that someone gotta get fired. “Saweetie selling 2k is bad A&R vibes,” he wrote. “Someone’s supposed to tell u this ain’t it! I also have issues with her having multiple platinum singles & not sticking with same formula that got her here. Someone gotta get fired.”

Hitmaka is not the only one who reacted to Saweetie’s awful projected sales, as producer Sonny Digital also questioned her social media popularity. “13 million followers , hundreds of thousands likes on all pictures but album sold less than 2000 copies. That’s crazy. The math ain’t adding up,” he wrote in a tweet. “If I had millions of followers and my album sold 2k I probably would just delete all my social media cause y’all lying to me.” “Before I came here to give my opinion I did listen to the album. I actually listened to everything that dropped that day. Just out of curiosity to see what the competition was on,” he wrote in another post.

Before I came here to give my opinion I did listen to the album. I actually listened to everything that dropped that day. Just out of curiosity to see what the competition was on.

Additionally, DJ Vlad criticised the Saweetie for reportedly turning down his request to be interviewed. “If Saweetie did a VladTV interview she would have easily done 10x her first week sales, which was 2000 copies. We actually reached out through one of our people and were told ‘she won’t do Vlad.’ Her Loss,” he tweeted.
The judgment of public sentiment could not be avoided, notwithstanding Sonny and Hitmaka’s theories. Comments ranged from, “She got what she deserved for breaking up a brotherhood” (a reference to her former relationship with Migos rapper Quavo) to “Cardi B is sabotaging Saweetie’s new album behind the scenes because she slept with her husband Offset. The evil Cardi B has been doing will be finally coming to light.”
Saweetie is yet to drop her debut studio album, as there’s still no update on her delayed project “Pretty Bi**h Music”. The album was originally due to be released on June 25, 2021, but it got delayed as the rapper had to “reconstruct” some songs.
