The Game has dropped some new heat just a few days after releasing his new single “Sauce” featuring DJ Khaled. It’s not music this time, but the stunning cover art for his upcoming 1992 album.
The Compton rapper has revealed the cover art for his next album on Instagram, following the announcement of the title and a tour. The artwork, which was created by renowned artist Joe Cool, contains significant references to the year 1992.
In a lengthy statement on Instagram, Game stated as much. He wrote,“[It] is inspired by what was going on in my life, my city & the world when I was 12 years old coming into my teenage years,” he wrote. “The Los Angeles Riots, Michael Jordan & the #DreamTeam featured above on my shirt won Olympic Gold…”
1992 opened at number four on the Billboard 200 in the United States, with 32,000 album-equivalent units and 25,000 pure album sales, making it the week’s second-highest debut and second best-selling album. In the United States, it is The Game’s eighth top-ten album. The Game’s eighth number one album on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, released in 1992, ties Tupac Shakur and Lil Wayne for third place among Hip Hop performers on the list.
The Compton rapper followed it up with “Born 2 Rap” album in 2019, and star-studded “Drillmatic – Heart vs. Mind” in 2022.
