Flavor Flav meets Eminem backstage at MTV VMAs.
Flavor Flav had been showing love for Eminem for a long time, and the two rap icons recently gets to meet each other during MTV VMAs 2024. Flav shared a clip on his social media of sharing a hug with Eminem at the backstage of the show which took place in September. The video also featured the other half of Public Enemy, Chuck D.
“Eminem Flavor Flav Chuck D. Eminem best battle Rapper in the Game,” he wrote.

Earlier this year, Flav was one of the artists who supported Eminem over criticism of his place in hip-hop as a white rapper. “Eminem is my favourite rapper. Word up,” he said on DJ Whoo Kid’s show on Shady 45 . “And not only that, he still shouts Flavor Flav out in his records. Yeah boy. You know what? Check this out. I don’t care how they trying to color my man it don’t stop him from being number one. That’s all I got to say. And being number one don’t have no color, alright. Word up man. Yeah, Eminem man. He’s the best rapper alive right now man. Can’t nobody beat him out. When you can’t be beat, that means you are the best.”
He continued: “Let me tell you something. Back in the day, when Eminem, Snoop, Dre, they had this group together and this is when the first time Eminem seen me and when he seen me, he went absolutely crazy. I didn’t know who he was at that time. I gave him mad love man. He went crazy over me and I gave mad love. Let me say like this, because a lot of those guys [Redman, LL Cool J, Nas] are like mentors to Em. But then Em is like a mentor to them too. It’s all a mutual respect thing. That’s one thing I could say about Eminem. He has mad, mad respect from all of the legends in the rap game but he’s a legend himself. For real.”
