In a recent interview Fake Drake said that Drake copied his style.
Fake Drake is becoming beyond a temporary viral sensation. For the last few months, Drake’s doppelganger has been spreading rapidly in Miami, to the point that he’s being hired to make appearances.
DJ Akademiks posted a video on Instagram on Monday (May 9) of Fake Drake playing in front of a tiny crowd. People gathered around the makeshift stage to see the doppelganger perform his best rendition of Drake’s “Laugh Now Cry Later” (with a backing track, of course). Fans, on the other hand, are going insane about his claimed performance fee.
“$5K a show @izzyydrake,” the video’s caption stated. There’s no proof on that amount, and if it’s even close to that, the doppelgänger industry may be the next great moneymaker.

Since achieving viral fame last October, Fake Drake has maintained his persona, alleging that the real Drake is mimicking his look, along with the Certified Lover Boy heart shaved into his hair. “I’ve had the heart for like a year and a half,” he said during a recent appearance on The Fan Bus. “I have the heart because, you know, if you do things with your heart, it’ll come back. I seen Drake rocking with this jacket, it was this black furry jacket, and I had that jacket, like, two and a half years ago. I’m not even kidding.”
