Eminem reached another milestone on Spotify.
Over 25 years in his career, Eminem continues his crazy run as he gets one more accolade. The Detroit Rapper now earns another milestone on music streaming platform Spotify as his song called “Without Me” surpassed 1 Billion Streams. The track was released way back in 2002, as the lead single of his fourth studio album “The Eminem Show”. “Without Me” is one of Eminem’s most popular singles, peaking at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and number one in fifteen other countries.
Eminem’s first song to garner a Grammy nomination in a major category was “Without Me,” which was nominated for Record of the Year at the 2003 Grammy Awards (but lost to Norah Jones’s song “Don’t Know Why”). It was also nominated for Best Male Rap Solo Performance, but that prize went to rapper Nelly’s song “Hot in Herre.”
The track is one of Eminem’s most successful singles, as it peaked at #2 on US Billboard Hot 100 and topped in fifteen countries. The song was honoured with several awards, including a Grammy in the Best Music Video category in 2003.
This video was nominated for MTV Video Music Awards for Video of the Year, Best Male Video, Best Rap Video, and Best Direction (for Joseph Kahn), as well as Best Editing and Viewer’s Choice. It was also nominated for Best Male Rap Solo Performance, however it was beaten by rapper Nelly’s song “Hot in Herre.” Pitchfork Media named the song the 251st best song of the 2000s in 2009. In the United Kingdom, the song was the 69th best-selling single of the 2000s.
It is now Eminem’s third track to reach 1 Billion on Spotify after his classics “Lose Yourself” and “Till I Collapse“. Eminem is expected to earn more such milestones in the coming weeks, as he’s all set to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and Mary J. Blige on February 13 at the Sofi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
Recently, Eminem’s second studio album “The Slim Shady LP” also surpassed 1 Billion Stream on Spotify.
