Many of Eminem’s most popular songs are about his deceased father Marshall Bruce Mathers Jr., and he has spoken extensively about his unhappy childhood in his music. Eminem always had a hatred for his father and he even rapped about it in his songs like ‘My Name Is‘ and ‘Cleanin’ Out My Closet‘. “I was a baby, maybe I was just a couple of months/ my (expletive) father must’ve had his panties up in a bunch/ ‘cause he split, I wonder if he even kissed me goodbye/ no, I don’t, on second thought, I just (expletive) wished he would die.”
Eminem’s father married Debbie at the age of 22 and when she was 15, then Eminem was born 2 years later. Eminem’s Dad left him and his mother when he was just a baby and moved to California where he had 2 other kids. Eminem made it clear that he had no desire in getting to know his father, despite having tried for years to contact him.
“I heard he’s trying to get in touch with me now,” Around that time, Eminem told the Detroit Free Press, “My father? I never knew him. I’ve never even seen a picture of him. I don’t even know what he looks like. … He lives out here in California. He’s tried to get in contact with me, now that I’m on TV. Now that I’m doing all these things here and there — now he’s trying to get in touch with me.”
