Eminem's Daughter Hailie Jade Says She Used To Get Bothered By Questions About Her Father

Hailie Jade responds to questions about her father Eminem.

After launching it a couple of months ago, Eminem’s daughter Hailie Jade is going well with her podcast “Just A Little Shady” which she co-host with her childhood friend. For the 9th episode, Hailie held a Q&A where she answered some of fans’ questions.

As expected, most of the question was about her rapper dad Eminem, and she kicked off the episode with the question about him. “Does it bother me when I get asked about my dad?” she reads the question. “The best way to say this is yes and no… Honestly, it’s to a point, I obviously expect it,” she said. “And there’s certain things I can understand why people are just genuinely curious about, as anyone would be when you’ve kind of grown up half in the spotlight.”

“I feel like growing up, when it would happen, I would get more bothered by it because I was like, ‘Why do people care?’” she said about being asked about her father. “I was young and I didn’t totally understand the situation, so I was like, that’s my dad. I don’t ask you about your dad.”

She continued, “And there are certain things that, yeah, that’s just weird that you want to know that, but then things that have been a little bit shared, I understand why people are like, ‘OK is this true?’ Some stuff it’s just like, that’s weird. Let’s move on.”

Hailie and her close friend Brittany Ednie started the “Just a Little Shady” podcast in July. In the first show, Hailie shared some of her experiences being Eminem’s daughter, while Brittany added her perspective on growing up as one of Hailie’s friends and being close to the rapper. As children, the two remembered riding on Eminem’s tour bus, which Hailie just assumed “was normal.” “I remember going on that and all our memories of being young were so cool and unique to look back at now,” added Brittany, “but at the time felt so normal and not anything strange or different. We didn’t know any better.”
