Eminem continues to dominate album sales in the UK as his greatest hits compilation “Curtain Call: The Hits” has gone a massive BRIT Certified 8x Platinum.
Curtain Call: The Hits debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and the Billboard 200 after two days of sales, similar to Eminem’s previous album Encore. The album sold almost 441,000 copies in its first week and roughly 324,000 copies in its second week, giving it a two-week run at number one.
Eminem’s 2005 hit is also a 7x platinum in the US as well as Ireland, 5x Platinum in New Zealand, and a whopping 12x Platinum in Australia.
When the 8 Mile soundtrack was included, it earned Eminem his seventh consecutive number one album in the United States and the United Kingdom. In the United States, the album had sold 3,782,000 copies as of November 2013. In the United States, Curtain Call was subsequently certified Diamond by the RIAA.
The album’s two singles, “When I’m Gone” and “Shake That,” charted at 8 and 6, respectively, on the US Billboard Hot 100. Only “When I’m Gone” made it to the UK charts, where it peaked at #4.
