Eminem x Carhartt x Air Jordan IV Bought for $227k in eBay Auction.
In August, Eminem Announced that he is collaborating with Carhartt for Air Jordan IV Sneakers to commemorate the 15th Anniversary of his Third Studio album The Marshall Mathers LP which was released back in 2000. In its first week, the Marshall Mathers album sold 1.78 million copies, making it one of the fastest-selling studio albums in the United States. The Marshall Mathers LP sold over 800,000 copies in its second week, 600,000 in its third week, and 520,000 in its fourth week, for a total of 3.65 million in four weeks. It was also one of the rare albums to sell more than half a million copies for four weeks in a row. The album spent a total of 8 weeks at the top of the Billboard 200 in the United States.
Recently eBay had an Auction of limited pair of Air Jordan IV Sneakers and the results of the Auction are out on Monday. In the Auction, 10 Pairs of Eminem x Carhartt x Air Jordan IV sold for a whopping $227,552 in total. The highest bid on one of the Air Jordan IV pairs of Size 9 sold for $30,100 and the lowest bid was on a Size 7 pair, which was sold for $18,750. Other Air Jordan IV pairs sold for $23,302, $25,900, $22,800, $22,400, $21,100, $22,300, $21,800, and $19,100. Actor Mark Wahlberg, who’s a sneakerhead has bought one of 10 sneakers in the eBay Auction. According to Eminem’s Manager Paul Rosenberg, Only 300 pairs of the Air Jordan IV sneakers were produced and this eBay Auction is the only time they will be made available to the public.
The vivid blue Air Jordan 4 Encore was released to commemorate the release of Eminem’s 2005 album “Encore,” and it is one of the most sought-after throwback Jordans ever, with just 50 pairs constructed. The shoe has sold for as much as $37,500 on the secondary market. In 2008, Jordan released 313 pairs of the Air Jordan 2 “The Way I Am,” a red, black, and white shoe with lyrics from Eminem’s song “The Way I Am” scrawled on the midsole. The price of the sneaker on eBay ranges from $2,299.99 to $4,999.99.
Eminem announced the collaboration between Carhartt and the Air Jordan 4 in 2015 on Instagram. In the post, the rapper also stated that just 10 pairs of shoes will be made accessible to the general public through a charity auction. Pairs of the collaboration are still available for those who missed the limited release, but buying a pair will cost you money.
In this case, the Eminem x Carhartt x Air Jordan 4 is reselling for an average price of $14,020 at the time of publishing, with the lowest list price for a men’s size 14 being $62,578 and prices for sizes 8, 8.5, 9, 11.5 and 12 going up to $129,600.
