Eminem & Twitter CEO donated $1 million to Detroit. Total Charity Sums up to 3.2 Million.
A couple of days ago, Eminem made an appearance on Young Money Radio for an interview with Lil Wayne where he revealed that he is donating $250k to Detroit through his Marshall Mathers Foundation to fight Covid-19 Pandemic. “I’ve got a few areas I want to take care of in Detroit,” said Eminem.
Eminem also discussed the recent contribution of his “8 Mile”-inspired Mom’s Spaghetti to Detroit health care workers on the radio broadcast. “Just to be able to put a smile on somebody’s face and provide some food, some lunch, whatever it is,” he said he sent the dish to workers.
After the interview, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey called Young Money Radio to announce that he will donate an additional $720k to the Marshall Mathers Foundation to make a total of $1 million. He said, “I heard Eminem donating $250k so I want to contribute even more to Detroit so Eminem can help as many people as possible.”
Eminem thanked the Twitter CEO through a tweet. “Thanks to @jack for hittin us up on @liltunechi’s #YoungMoneyRadio @Beats1 and supporting the #MarshallMathersFoundation and #Detroit in a big way!”
Em and Jack joined together when a group of charities, including Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation and Big Sean’s Sean Anderson Foundation, donated $3.2 million to support community-based groups in Detroit and Flint. Food and water access, rental aid, bail relief, the homeless, foster children, immigrants, refugees, and domestic violence survivors will all benefit from the funds raised.
