Eminem pays tribute to Tupac with a museum visit.
This year’s Super Bowl was special for the hip hop fans as Dr. Dre teamed up with Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige and 50 Cent for a “Rap Avengers” group for the halftime show performance. There were some rumours that a 2Pac hologram will also make a surprise appearance, just like the iconic 2012 Coachella festival, but it didn’t happen. Dr. Dre made sure he includes Tupac in one way or another as he played two of his tracks, “California Love” and “I Ain’t Mad At Cha.”
Eminem, who always pays respect to rap legends, and also called Tupac greatest songwriter of all time, made a visit to late MCs “Wake Me When I’m Free” Museum in LA. The Museum which opened last month is Created in collaboration with the Shakur Estate, this exhibit leverages technology, and it explores the life and legacy of Makaveli.
Wake Me When I’m Free, a project developed in partnership with Tupac Shakur’s estate, uses modern art, sensory tech, and never-before-seen objects from Pac’s personal archives to examine the legacy and life of the renowned rapper and activist.
The exhibition “delve[s] into the greater meaning of his activism, music, and revolutionary art through a labyrinth of emotions, as they take this journey through his extraordinary life,” according to the official website.
The Wake Me When I’m Free show opened in downtown Los Angeles last month, and it’s an immersive art exhibit featuring never-before-seen ‘Pac memorabilia. Tupac’s life, art, and childhood are all explored in depth in this exhibition. Eminem made a point of walking around the exhibit and taking a look.
The Detroit Rapper who always rocks tees with the classic album covers, wore 2Pac’s debut album “2Pacalypse Now” shirt for his visit to the museum.
