Eminem Announces New Single Houdini Dropping On May 31st

Eminem dropping the new single “Houdini” this week.

After teasing it the past week, Eminem has officially announced his comeback single titled “Houdini” which will be released on May 31st. This will kick the campaign for his next album “The Death of Slim Shady“, which was announced last month.

The rapper announced the single with a promo clip featuring magician David Blaine, as the two interact in a Facetime video. “How far can we go with this magic? Can we do a stunt or something?” the Detroit rapper asks Blaine. David responds by sipping on a glass of wine, before taking a bite on the glass, to which Eminem responds: “well for my last trick, I’m gonna make my career disappear.” The “last trick” likely be a reference to his last album as “Slim Shady”.

This is the first time since 2017’s “Revival” that Eminem started a proper album era, as he released two albums in 2018 and 2020 as surprise projects. It’s been four years since Eminem last dropped an album when he dropped his eleventh studio effort “Music To Be Murdered By” in 2020, and a deluxe side b edition in the same year.

“Eminem is working on his own album which is coming out this year,” announced Dr. Dre in March. “And I actually talked to him and he said it was okay for me to make that announcement right here on this show. I’ve got songs on it and it’s fire. I’m actually going hear the entire album for the first time tomorrow and he holds his music close to his chest so I haven’t hear everything, I haven’t even heard everything complete that I’ve done but I’m going to hear it and he’s putting out an album this year.”
