Music to Be Murdered Bywas released without notice in January, it had an immediate impact, selling 279,000 album-equivalent copies in its first week. Eminem became the first artist to have ten straight albums start at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and one of just six musicians in the United States to have ten No. 1 albums.
Music to Be Murdered By has already sold one million copies is RIAA platinum certification. With the exception of 2017’s critically panned Revival, Eminem’s major-label studio albums have all gone platinum or better, with two of them—2000’s Marshall Mathers LP and 2002’s The Eminem Show—receiving diamond awards for sales exceeding 10 million in the United States.
