Eminem shares a trailer for “Minions: The Rise of Gru” film.
Minions: The Rise of Gru, the second part of 2015’s movie Minions is coming to theatres this July, and a new trailer for the Illumination produced film is released. It is directed by Kyle Balda and will see the return of Steve Carell as Gru, and Pierre Coffin as the Minions, along with Taraji P. Henson, Michelle Yeoh, RZA, Jean-Claude Van Damme and more.
The second trailer of the film features Eminem’s Academy award-winning single “Lose Yourself“. “One shot. One opportunity. Time to show the world who’s mini boss. #Minions: The Rise of Gru. In theaters this July,” wrote the Detroit rapper on his social media.
We witness 12-year-old Gru bragging that he’s going to be a “super-villain” as he throws a stink bomb into a movie theatre, triggering a mass exodus, while the song’s trademark chugging beat swells up on the action set in the 1970s. As we observe emerging baddie Gru breaking into the Bank of Evil in one of his earliest heists, Em raps, “This planet is mine for the taking/ Make me king as we advance toward a new global order.”
The animated film, directed by Kyle Balda and co-directed by Brad Ableson and Jonathan del Val, will debut at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on June 13, 2022, and will be distributed theatrically in the United States on July 1 by Universal Pictures.
