Eminem Kicks Off 2022 With Another New Record On Billboard

Eminem sets another new Billboard 200 record.

Just last week, Eminem’s “The Slim Shady LP” surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify, which helped him become the first act to have 11 studio albums with 1 Billion streams on the platform.

Now the Detroit rapper kicks off his 2022 with another new record, this time on Billboard. Eminem’s 11th studio album “Music To Be Murdered By” made its return to Billboard 200, and now it spent a milestone 100 weeks on the charts. With this milestone, Eminem now becomes the first rapper n history to have 7 albums chart for at least 100 weeks each on the Billboard 200.

The seven projects include “The Eminem Show”, “Recovery”, “The Slim Shady LP”, “The Marshall Mathers”, “The Marshall Mathers LP 2”. “Music To Be Murdered By” and “Curtain Call: The Hits”.

Marshall is getting ready to hit the stage alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar for what promises to be one of the most epic Super Bowl halftime displays ever with Super Bowl LVI just a month away (February 13).

Marshall also found a new milestone to celebrate on Monday (Jan. 10) when he revealed that his YouTube subscriber count had surpassed 50 million; at press time, the figure had already risen to 50.4 million.

Eminem’s greatest hits compilation “Curtain Call” is on a monumental run of consecutive 561 on the Billboard 200. The project was also among the 50 best-selling albums of 2021, even after being released way back in 2005.

In 2023, Hip-Hop celebrates 50 years of the genre, and Billboard and Vibe have listed the 50 greatest rappers of all time. The list is topped by JAY-Z, who’s named the number 1 greatest rapper of all time. The second on the list is Kendrick Lamar, who just won the Grammy award for best rap album for his latest effort “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers”, and took his tally to third most as a rapper. The number three and four on the list are Nas and Tupac respectively.

Eminem, who is considered to be the best rapper ever by many, was named number fifth on the list, followed by The Notorious B.I.G. in sixth spot. Lil Wayne and Drake also made it to the top 10 as they hold the number 7 and 8th spot. The legendary Snoop Dogg is named in the number 9 spot, while Nicki Minaj is the only female emcee in the top 10.
