Eminem only rapper to feature in the Top 10 Most Decorated Artist, MJ tops the list.
The updated Most Decorated Artist list is here and Eminem is still the only Hip-Hop artist to appear in the Top 10. The most Decorated list is based on all the most accolades and awards won by artists in the music industry.
Michael Jackson is still on Top with 834 Awards, followed by Beyonce 691 and Whitney Houston on third with 657. Eminem still the only Rapper to feature in Top 10 with 393 Awards.
Marshall Mathers, alias Eminem, began his rap career at the age of 16 while growing up in Detroit. Dr. Dre, the rap entrepreneur, took over a decade to find Eminem and sign him to his first recording deal. It was the beginning of an illustrious and unparalleled hip hop career. Despite his controversial lyrics, Eminem was successful in establishing hip hop as a popular genre.
Eminem became the first hip hop artist to win an Oscar in 2003 for his song ‘Lose Yourself,’ which was the lead song on the soundtrack to his 2002 film ‘8 Mile.’ He was also the first white rapper to have a significant amount of success in the rap genre.
The methodology of this chart is unclear, and it does not specify which awards are included, but we can deduce from occasional updates on the artist’s record that this Twitter handle keeps an eye on the global scene and includes not only some obvious Grammy or MTV awards, but also some obscure accolades such as the Douban Abilu Music Awards – a list of the most popular artists in the world.
The rules are the same for everyone, regardless of how it works, and Eminem is the only hip hop artist to have achieved enough fame to become the sixth most awarded musician of all time.
