Eminem started riding high after the massive success of The Slim Shady LP and Dr. Dre’s 2001, even as he became overwhelmed by the scope of his newfound fame. Rather than cracking under the pressure, Marshall spent time (and drugs) in Amsterdam before returning to the United States and releasing his magnum opus, The Marshall Mathers LP.
The Marshall Mathers LP, cameo appearances on “Don’t Approach Me” and “Forgot About Dre,” three great singles with “Real Slim Shady,” “The Way I Am,” and “Stan,” make him the most contentious rapper on the globe.
Em must be contemplating what to perform in the Superbowl from his great career right now. Pepsi released a preview for the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show, which will include Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, and Mary J. Blige. The halftime show will take place on February 13 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. To the tune of ‘Rap God,’ Eminem engages in a rap war with his alter ego, Slim Shady, in the video. It also contains Snoop Dogg driving around the streets of Los Angeles while playing ‘The Next Episode,’ Mary J. Blige performing ‘Family Affair,’ and Kendrick Lamar performing ‘Humble.’
To Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop, Billboard and Vibe have listed the 50 greatest rappers of all time. In the list, the Detroit rapper was ranked at #5 best rapper of all time after JAY-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Nas and Tupac consecutively.
