Eminem opened the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards.
The 2024 MTV VMAs event took place tonight at UBS Arena in Elmont, N.Y., and as announced Eminem kicked off the show with a performance. The rapper is also among the most nominated artists this year at the event, with eight nods.
For the performance of “Houdini”, the Detroit rapper recreated his old 2000s iconic performance where he brought out Slim Shady clones along with him on the stage. The song peaked at #2 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

The rapper then teamed up with Jelly Roll for the performance of “Somebody Save Me“, which is dedicated to daughters. This is the third single from his latest album “The Death of Slim Shady”, and peaked at #27 on the Billboard Hot 100. “Eminem is my favorite rapper,,, and he’s opening the VMAs,!!! We STAN on Wednesday,!!,” wrote Flavor Flav on Twitter previously.
The performance took place just before the rapper drops another version of his latest album on Friday. Eminem recently announced “The Death of Slim Shady” Expanded Mourner’s Edition, which is dropping on 13th September.
