Eminem Earns Historical Spotify Milestone Following Super Bowl Show

Eminem makes Spotify history as “Encore” surpassed 1.5 Billion Streams.

Eminem was part of the historical Super Bowl Halftime performance last night in LA with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige and the guest star 50 Cent. The rapper performed his 8 Mile classic “Lose Yourself” in front of the full house star-studded SoFi Stadium.

As expected, the artists gets a huge boost at the streaming services after their Super Bowl performance, and Eminem bagged another Spotify milestone. Eminem’s fifth studio album “Encore” has now surpassed 1.5 billion streams on Spotify, and he becomes the first act in history to have 10 albums with 1.5 Billion streams on the platform.

To counteract leaks, Encore was moved back to the middle of the week. Regardless, it sold 710,000 copies in just three days. The album sold 871,000 copies in the next week, its first with a complete 7-day run, bringing the 10-day total to 1,582,000. That mid-December, it was declared triple platinum. The album sold 11 million copies worldwide nine months after its debut. The album created digital history when it became the first to sell 10,000 digital downloads in a single week.

Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” also sees a huge jump on Apple Music as it is now on number 5 spot, after Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s “The Next Episode” and “Still D.R.E.” on 3rd and 4th respectively.
