Earl Sweatshirt subliminally reacts to Joe Budden criticism.
Earl Sweatshirt recently dropped his fourth studio album “Sick!“, first since 2018’s offering “Some Rap Songs”. The Chicago rapper was a topic of discussion in one of the latest episodes of Joe Budden’s podcast, where the rapper turned podcaster criticised the new project from Sweatshirt.
“I’m just being honest this year,” said Budden. “Hell no, I ain’t hear that bullsh*t. And I’ll tell you what, I’m never gonna hear ’em. I am never gonna hear that. I don’t care. That sh*t could be [Michael Jackson’s] Thriller. When would I put that on?”
“That’s my ni**a [Earl] too, man,” he said. “But I ain’t listening to that sh*t. Is [Earl] on Tyler’s last album? Is [Earl] on Tyler’s album before that album? How about the one before that one? All right, yo. Forget it. But you expect me to listen to it. Ni**a man won’t call him to come to the f**king studio. Yo, when your man stop inviting you to the studio, you’re not getting me to listen to what you’re doing. Sorry, that’s like a rule of thumb for me.”
Now Earl Sweatshirt seemingly responds to comments from Joe Budden, without mentioning him. “its weird that bro didn’t like my mood muzik LOL what happened twin?,” he tweeted, and referenced Joe Budden’s “Mood Muzik” mixtape series.
Some Twitter users suggested that Budden’s aversion to Earl’s new music stems from Sweatshirt’s humorous impersonations of the rapper on Odd Future’s former Adult Swim show Loiter Squad and, more recently, on an episode of the Rory and Mal podcast.

Sick! has received excellent reviews since its January 14 release, notwithstanding Joe Budden’s criticism. Armand Hammer and Zeeloperz make cameos on the 10-track project, which is produced by The Alchemist, Samiyam, and Black Noi$e. Sick! is available to stream below.
