Drake wins the top rap album at 2022 Billboard Music Awards for “Certified Lover Boy”.
The 2022 Billboard Music Awards took place earlier tonight at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, which was hosted by Sean “Diddy” Combs, who also executive produced the show alongside Robert Deaton.
This year, The Weeknd was the most nominated male artist with 17 nominations, while Doja Cat led the female category with 14 noms. Doja Cat won the awards in four categories, while The Weeknd only took home one trophy.
Drake won major categories as a hip-hop artist, including Top Rap Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Artist and Top Rap Album for his latest studio effort “Certified Lover Boy”. Drizzy won 5 awards at this year’s ceremony, upping his Billboard Award tally to a total of 34.
Olivia Rodrigo, who won the most prizes of the night with seven, and Ye (Kanye West), who won six, were among the other prominent winners. Christian artist, gospel artist, Christian album, gospel album, Christian song, and gospel song were among the winners.
The other artist who won multiple awards is Kanye West with six, Taylor Swift with 4, and Justin Bieber with 5 awards. The duo of Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow took home the top rap song award for their Billboard Hot 100 hit “Industry Baby”.
