Drake honours late Virgil Abloh with a new hand tattoo.
Last month, Virgil Abloh, the Louis Vuitton and Off-White designer has passed away at the age of 41. The iconic art director had been battling a rare Cancer, cardiac angiosarcoma for some years. “We are devastated to announce the passing of our beloved Virgil Abloh, a fiercely devoted father, husband, son, brother, and friend,” the family statement reads. “He is survived by his loving wife Shannon Abloh, his children Lowe Abloh and Grey Abloh, his sister Edwina Abloh, his parents Nee and Eunice Abloh, and numerous dear friends and colleagues.”
After the tragic news, celebrities across various genres send condolences through social media. Vic Mensa and Lupe Fiasco remembered Virgil through tribute songs. Drake, who previously collaborated with Virgil for designing his private jet, Air Drake, took to his social media and shared a series of pictures. “My plan is to touch the sky 1000 more times for you…love you eternally brother,” he wrote. “thank you for everything.”

Now it is revealed that Drizzy honoured his late friend with a new tattoo. Ganga Tattoo Instagram shared a picture of Toronto rap star’s new ink, in which Abloh is throwing a kite into the air. “A remembrance of the great Virgil Abloh done on Drake’ @champagnepapi @virgilabloh Microrealism,” the post captioned.
Abloh was a DJ and Kanye West’s longstanding creative director, in addition to his fashion accomplishments. He also collaborated with Kid Cudi on a Kurt Cobain-inspired floral print clothing worn by the rapper during a Saturday Night Live visit earlier this year, and he helped design famous album covers for West, A$AP Rocky, Lil Uzi Vert, and Pop Smoke.
