Drake kicks off the It’s All A Blur Tour with 21 Savage.
Drake finally kicked off his “It’s All A Blur” tour with 21 Savage, which is his first arena tour in over five years. The rapper returned to the stage at United Center in Chicago on Wednesday night (July 5), along with his “Her Loss” collaborator 21 Savage.
On the show, the Toronto rap star also honoured late Louis Vuitton designer Virgil Abloh, as he introduced a giant statue of Abloh in his home state. “Please make some noise for one of the most important people I’ve met in this industry,” he said on stage. “Make some noise for one of the greatest minds that we’ve ever seen.”
“Our brother, our family, he goes by the name of Virgil Abloh. Let’s pay some respect.” He also shared a picture of the stage of his social media with a caption: “Our brother is watching.”
Drake Pays Tribute To Late Virgil Abloh With A New Tattoo
The iconic Louis Vuitton and Off-White designer Virgil Abloh passed away at the age of 41 in late 2021. The Rockford, Illinois artist had been battling cardiac angiosarcoma, a rare form of cancer for over 2 years after getting diagnosed in 2019.
Last year, Kendrick Lamar also honoured the late designer at Louis Vuitton’s SS23 fashion show in Paris. “Virgil, Long Live,” Kendrick repeatedly said before turning the tribute into a performance.
