The memorial was attended by close of 20,000 people, which includes family and fans. The service lasted a few hours, and featured tributes from Offset, Quavo, Drake, Cardi B and more. The Toronto rap star gave a speech in memory of Takeoff, and cracked some jokes. “Whenever he would take his shades off, he had this thing about him that I love, no matter what was going on around us, he was always kind of squinting, but like his eyes were wide open,” he said.

“You were always with me and we did everything together. Since we was kids, you’ve been by my side, looking up at me with them eyes,” Quavo said in his emotional speech. “You never competed with me. We were always on the same team ’cause you hated playing against me ’cause I always played too hard or too rough.”

Cardi, who is the wife of fellow Migos band Offset and has previously collaborated with the rap group, then spoke of the “void” that all those who loved Takeoff are suffering in the aftermath of his passing.
“The emptiness your brothers are feeling is unbearable and I pray that you give Offset ,Quavo, and your friends and family the strength to keep going as they are trying to cope with this loss. I believe that angels send signs and beautiful dreams to loved ones to assure them that they’re watching them and they’re okay and happy…send your mom some of those,” she continued.
The event also featured some performances, as Justin Bieber performed an acoustic version of “Ghost”, & Chloe Bailey performed a cover of Beyonce’s “Heaven”. The service was also attended by YG, Gucci Mane, Mustard, City Girls, Lil Yachty, Teyana Taylor, Cee-Lo Green, Russell Simons and many more.
