Drake & Eminem features in Top 5 Artists with over 100 million RIAA Units.
There are six artists who have reached a milestone of 100 million in certified US digital song units by RIAA and it is topped by the Drake. The Toronto star holds the number 1 spot with 163.5 million RIAA Units. After Drake, Eminem is the only rapper in the Top 5, as he’s ranked 4th with 107.5 million RIAA Units.
In March 20018, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) congratulated Em on his accomplishment. When it comes to digital singles, Em is currently only surpassed by Rihanna (121 million) with 107.5 million songs pushed and three diamond-certified singles (“Love the Way You Lie,” “Lose Yourself,” and “Not Afraid”). Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Drake, Bruno Mars, Kanye West, and Chris Brown round out the top ten. Sole three artists—Rihanna, Eminem, and Taylor Swift—have surpassed 100 million certified units with their digital single releases, according to the RIAA’s website, with Eminem being the only rapper.
Eminem’s album, Revival, was released in December of 2017. The album’s promotion continues this month with the release of the official video for “River,” which features Ed Sheeran and follows the trailer for Beyoncé’s duet “Walk on Water.” Following its release, the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 list, making Eminem the first artist to have eight consecutive albums begin at No. 1. Slim Shady was placed No. 5 on the list of best-selling global musicians last year, behind Ed Sheeran, Drake, Taylor Swift, and Kendrick Lamar.
Kanye West ranked 6th in the list with 105 million in certified US digital song units by RIAA. Check out the list below.
