Drake gets emotional during Kanye West performance of “Runaway”.
Earlier this month, Drake and Kanye West, the duo who recently squashed their beef, joined forces for the incredible “Free Larry Hoover” concert at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Now unseen footage from the event surfaced online, where the Toronto rapper is seen getting emotional while watching Ye’s performance.

West’s rendition of the 2010 song, which is a highlight from his fifth album, ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy,’ was particularly moving. The track’s signature music was replaced with powerful, solo piano chords to match its subject matter (West reminiscing on failed relationships from his past). West ended the song by improvising words in which he mentioned his estranged wife, Kim Kardashian.

The ‘Free Larry Hoover’ event, which took place in Los Angeles earlier this month, marked West’s historic reunion with Drake after the two reconciled their long-running dispute and performed together for the first time since 2016. The performance was a benefit for gang member Larry Hoover, who is presently serving a life sentence for murder, as the name indicates.
In the clip, Drake had his eyes filled with tears, as he watched Kanye West perform “Runaway”. During the performance, Ye pleads to his separated wife Kim Kardashian to come back to him. “I need you to run right back to me, baby/I need you to run right back to me, baby/I need you to run right back to me, baby/I need you to run right back to me, more specifically, Kimberly,” sings Ye.
But there were other noteworthy incidents throughout the event as well. As previously reported, Kanye and Drake sang “Forever” as a duet to finish their historic event. They then left the stage together. Yeezy embarrassedly forgot portions of the song’s words while performing. The Chicago rapper first laughed it off before overcoming his lyrical goof to finish the second part of his stanza.
At the show, Kanye West performed his classics like “Jesus Walks”, “All of the Lights”, “Good Life”, “Touch the Sky”, “Stronger”, “All Falls Down”, while Drizzy performed his recent hits “Life is Good”, “Way 2 Sexy”, “Girls Want Girls”, “Laugh Now Cry Later”, “Knife Talk”, and “God’s Plan”. The duo also performed their 2009 collaboration “Forever”, which featured Eminem and Lil Wayne.
