Dr. Dre’s father details their strained relationship.
Dr. Dre has been going through personal life struggles after his wife for 24 years filed for divorce last year. He was also hospitalized recently after suffering a Brain Aneurysm. Now Dr. Dre’s father, who divorced his mother shortly after he was born, details their strained relationship. Theodore Young recently sat down with PageSix where he revealed that Dr. Dre hasn’t seen him in several years.
“I haven’t seen Andre since his grandfather died and I can’t even remember when that was,” says Dr. Dre’s father. “We have no relationship. My other sons love me. They tell me they love me. But coming from where I come from, most young men like Andre who have a big success don’t give a damn about their dad.”
Dr. Dre’s personal life has been falling apart in recent months-long before he was hospitalised on Jan. 4 due to a brain aneurysm. When his wife of 24 years revealed his alleged lovers, their difficult divorce became much more tumultuous. Then one of his daughters, LaTanya Young, went public with the revelation that she hadn’t seen her father in 17 years and that he had never seen his grandkids.
