‘The Lord Of The Rings‘ Star and ‘Wild Things‘ Host Dominic Monaghan sat down with The Wrap for an Exclusive Interview and revealed how he landed a role alongside Megan Fox in the Music Video of Eminem and Rihanna’s 2010 Hit Single “Love The Way You Lie”.
In the interview, Dominic Monaghan, Who’s hip-hop and big Eminem fan talked about his role in the music video and said, “I was friends with director (Joseph Kahn), He and i were trying to put a movie together for three or four years, and we became good friends and hung out a lot, and we’d spend time together just artistically talking about the film.”
Joseph Kahn was the director. Monaghan was cast as Eminem opposite Fox’s Kim Mathers, who played the rapper’s on-again, off-again wife.
Dominic continued, “He knew that I was an Eminem fan because he’d worked with Eminem on ‘The Real Slim Shady’ video, He called me up one days and just said, ‘Hey do you want to be in this Eminem video that I’m doing?’, And I was like, ‘Yeah, of course, I do.‘”
Dominic Monaghan who called Eminem “arguably the greatest rapper of all time,” said “It’s a great song it’s a cool video as well, The cool thing was Eminem had to sign off on it – he had to sign off on me. I found out from the director that Eminem described me as ‘dirty,’ which I think is a compliment when it comes from Marshall.”
In the now-classic rap video, Monaghan alternates between being aggressive and sensual, smashing through walls one moment and making out with the “Transformers” actor the next.
“I only did that video so I could meet Eminem, that was the only reason. I hardly got paid any money, it was a very short shoot,” Monaghan Said. “Interscope few me to Detroit and I got a chance to see him and Jay Z in concert.” Watch the Music Video of “Love The Way You Lie” which is close to a billion views on Youtube.
The song won several honours and was nominated for five Grammys. It is Eminem’s best-selling track and spent seven weeks at the top of various record charts, along with the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States. In the United States, the track sold over 12 million copies.
