DJ Hed Denies Kendrick Lamar's New Album Rumors; DJ Akademiks Responds

DJ Hed and DJ Akademiks fire shots at each other.

There have been some rumors of new Kendrick Lamar album for the past few months, and it was confirmed by the rapper himself in an alleged text exchange with someone close.

“But aye. Is the album coming or is you just on demon?” the person texts K. Dot. “We coming,” responds Kendrick in the text. Following the post that went viral on social media, DJ Hed calls the rumors as false. He reshared the post with a cap emoji on X (formerly Twitter). “Dot don’t really talk to nobody.. especially not Ak,” he added in another tweet.

“But that was his cousin hed, it’s different and dot follows him,” a fan responds. “It’s to many layers for him to fake that,” wrote another. “He don’t talk to his cousin? Cause that’s who put the info out there.”

Following the posts from DJ Hed, AK also fired shots at him through his livestream. “I’m the greatest single journalist you’ve ever heard of,” Akademiks states. “I built a $20 million industry by doing this sh-t. I played Drake’s video and Drake had to ask me, ‘How’d you get it?’ When I tell you something came from or something I know when it comes to Kendrick or whatever- I don’t give a f–k who Kendrick is, I don’t give a f–k about none of these ni–as. Akademiks is the greatest single journalist you’ve ever heard of. You could be f–king Kendrick if I said it that’s what it is. Let me be clear: I don’t need to talk to the artists. How much sh-t did I break about Yung Miami? You think I ever talked to her? Nope.”

Last week, DJ Akademiks claimed that Kendrick is cooking up new music. I’ve gotten some sources that tell me Kendrick – I don’t think it’s on some diss sh-t. But I’ve heard that, you know, Kendrick is loading up,” he said. “I don’t know if that means an album, I don’t know if he’s finally going to start giving out the handouts of features that he probably promised them ni–as who were Crip-walking and Blood-walking on that stage. I don’t know if it’s just going to be a loosie. Maybe it’s that track that was at the beginning of the ‘Not Like Us’ video.”
